The European Circular Retail Congress (ECRC) is an annual event organized by European Conference United (ECU) under the auspices of the European Circular Retail Foundation. Each year, the congress takes place in a different country and attracts professionals from across the grocery retail and FMCG industry who are focused on promoting sustainable business practices.

In 2024, the ECRC will be a crucial component of the 15th Poland & CEE Retail Summit, which is scheduled to take place on April 9th and 10th. Specifically, the ECRC will be held on the second day of the summit, April 10th. The fact that the ECRC will take place on the second day of the Poland & CEE Retail Summit presents a unique and international opportunity for both summit attendees and ECRC participants to connect with industry leaders and experts, gain valuable insights into sustainable retail practices, and connect with each other. 

The ECRC, as part of the larger Poland & CEE Retail Summit, will attract more than 1500 attendees specifically interested in sustainability initiatives and practices in the retail and FMCG industry.

The program of the ECRC is structured around three pillars of business sustainability
The first pillar covers sustainability strategies, including developing and implementing comprehensive ESG/sustainability strategies, measuring and tracking progress, engaging stakeholders, and exceeding environmental regulations and standards.

The second pillar focuses on showcasing best practices for developing and marketing environmentally friendly products and services, communicating their benefits, and incorporating sustainability throughout the product lifecycle.

The third pillar of the ECRC focuses on sustainable supply chain management and production, including improving resource efficiency and implementing green logistics. It also covers the transition to a circular economy, which involves reducing waste and promoting the reuse and recycling of materials. Finally, this pillar emphasizes building organizational resilience by assessing and mitigating climate-related risks.
